Program Overview
The Prime Minister's National Health Program is a flagship federal government initiative that provides free, cashless healthcare services to eligible residents of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). The program is designed to ensure access to quality medical treatment without financial hardship, strengthening the government's commitment to universal healthcare for all eligible citizens.
Eligibility & Required Documentation
- Residents of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT)
- Residents of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK)
- Residents of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB)
- Valid NADRA-issued CNIC for adults (18+)
- B-Form linked with parent's CNIC for children (Under 18)
All registered residents of the covered regions are eligible to receive healthcare services under the program. Adults are required to present a valid CNIC, while children must provide a B-Form linked with their parent's CNIC. These documents are used for digital verification at participating hospitals before treatment is provided.
How the Program Works
Patients simply visit a participating hospital and present their CNIC or B-Form at the registration counter. Their eligibility is verified digitally through the program's third-party insurance model, eliminating lengthy paperwork and ensuring a smooth admission process.
After successful verification, patients receive complete cashless medical treatment at approximately 1000+ participating public and private hospitals across Pakistan. The government bears the treatment costs, allowing beneficiaries to access quality healthcare without paying hospital expenses or submitting insurance claims.

Complete inpatient services including hospital admission, accommodation, nursing care, and continuous patient monitoring without any out-of-pocket expenses.
Emergency Treatment
Immediate medical care for accidents, injuries, trauma, and other emergency conditions through participating public and private hospitals.
Surgical Procedures
Coverage for general, specialized, and day-care surgeries performed by qualified surgeons under the National Health Program.
Specialist Consultations
Access to experienced specialists across multiple medical disciplines for expert diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
Diagnostics & Tests
Laboratory investigations, imaging services, diagnostic procedures, and medical tests required during hospitalization are fully covered.
Maternal Care
Comprehensive pregnancy care, childbirth, delivery services, and postnatal healthcare support for eligible beneficiaries.
Cardiac & Kidney Diseases
Coverage includes heart surgeries, angioplasty, dialysis, kidney transplantation, renal failure treatment, and specialist consultations.
Cancer & Chronic Diseases
Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgical oncology, diabetes, hypertension, liver diseases, and neurological disorder management are included.
